University of Liverpool in America Inc receives IRS approval
The first board meeting of the Directors of University of Liverpool in America Inc took place on 18 June 2010 at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan.
The Board agreed that the fundraising priorities for the US Foundation should be Research Excellence and Enhancing the Student Experience at the University of Liverpool; areas which were selected for their close alignment to the University’s Strategic Plan 2009-2014 and their broad appeal to the alumni body.
The Directors have also agreed to make an annual grant to the Benefactors’ Fund allowing US alumni who currently donate to the Fund through the British Schools and Universities Foundation (BSUF) to continue to do so tax effectively.
The Foundation has already secured gifts and pledges of over $120,000 and alumni based in the US can now make tax-deductible donations to the University of Liverpool under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation is also qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the code. The organisation’s number is 27-1161026.
